Engaged community Member
Sarah has been practicing family law and civil litigation.
Prior to law school, Sarah completed a BSc with a major in Psychology at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax. During her time in Halifax, Sarah volunteered with community initiatives that promoted the accessibility of tutoring, mentoring, and psychological support services to youth.
With a passion for assisting others and an interest in law, she pursued a Juris Doctor degree at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton. Sarah enjoyed new volunteer opportunities with the Fredericton Legal Aid Clinic (2016-2019) and Pro Bono Canada UNB Imprint Trans ID Clinic (2018-2019).
Now settled in the Ottawa community, Sarah looks forward to once again becoming an engaged community member through volunteering.
After her first and second years of law school, Sarah summered with well-established Ottawa law firms, gaining valuable work experience appearing in the Provincial Court, meeting with clients, drafting pleadings, and conducting legal research. Sarah articled with Augustine Bater Binks LLP in 2019 and 2020, working closely with our senior litigation team expanding her knowledge in family law and civil litigation. During articles, Sarah also represented many clients with Small Claims Court legal issues.
Sarah was born and raised in Ottawa and is very happy to be home after completing her post-secondary education out East. She now looks forward to developing and growing her legal practice in her hometown. Sarah will take the time to learn about her client’s individual concerns and work diligently to find the best solutions to her client’s legal problems.
Outside the office, Sarah also can be found spending time with her family and friends, cuddling with her two Abyssinian cats Bohdi and Finley, and hitting the gym.
