effective Advocacy Skills
Victoria has been practicing civil litigation, including plaintiff personal injury, insurance defense, and commercial litigation in Ottawa.
Currently, she practices in the area of civil litigation, including plaintiff personal injury, commercial litigation, estate litigation, residential and commercial real estate disputes, construction lien litigation, and condominium litigation. She has appeared in both the Ontario Small Claims Court and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.
Through her effective advocacy skills, Victoria is able to hone confidence and trust from her clients, and ultimately obtain successful results for them.
Victoria obtained her Juris Doctorate from The University of Ottawa, after obtaining her Bachelor of Arts from McGill University. After completing her articles at a boutique litigation firm in Ottawa, she was called to the Bar in Ontario in 2013.
A strong sense of community was instilled in Victoria at a very young age. She is involved in the legal community and is particularly involved with the Advocacy Club, where she mentors junior lawyers regarding oral advocacy skills. She has previously taught Legal Research, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Estate Litigation and Trial Advocacy courses to law students at The University of Ottawa.
Outside of the legal world, Victoria is the President of the Board of Directors of the Emily Murphy Non-Profit Housing Corporation, which is a rent-geared-to-income housing initiative available to single parents and their children. She is also the Director of Fundraising for The Ottawa Hospital Rehabilitation Volunteer Association, which raises funds to pay for patient healthcare expenses that are not covered by OHIP or private health insurance.
