Representing family law disputes

As an experienced and committed family law lawyer, Alice represents her clients in their family law disputes, or assists them with domestic contracts to avoid future disputes. Alice was recognized in the 2023 edition of Best Lawyers.

Alice regularly represents her clients in court at conferences, motions, and trials. She also represents her clients at, or helps them prepare themselves for, out of court dispute resolution processes such as mediation or arbitration.

Alice enjoys drafting or providing legal advice to people entering into marriage contracts or cohabitation agreements and is particularly interested in seeing such agreements evolve as our definition of ‘family’ changes. She strongly believes in ensuring that her clients understand their rights and obligations, and to support them in altering or defining those rights and obligations when appropriate.

In the context of both separations and domestic contracts, Alice has experience with complex financial situations and needs, including working with business valuators, actuaries, and forensic accountants.

Alice obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Ottawa (Cum Laude). Before attending law school, Alice obtained an Honours B.A. from Trent University in Philosophy, Emphasis in Applied Ethics. She was called to the Law Society of Ontario in 2012.

Prior to dedicating herself to family law, Alice represented clients at hearings as part of the Residential School Settlement Agreement. She is dedicated to serving a diverse group of clients in her family practice and recently presented on “Working With Your Experts and Recognizing Racial Diversity in Imputing Income”.

Outside of work, Alice enjoys spending time with friends and family, gardening, travelling, and reading science fiction.
