Varied experiences support thoughtful advocacy

Angela is a dedicated family law lawyer, who assists clients with a range of family law matters. Her practice includes preparing marriage contracts and cohabitation agreements, but also assisting with parenting issues, support issues, and property division upon separation. Angela has experience representing clients at court appearances before the Superior Court of Justice and at alternative dispute resolution processes such as mediation.

Angela enjoys supporting clients as they work through sometimes challenging personal circumstances. In the context of relationship building, Angela helps clients to understand their rights and responsibilities and to determine how best to avoid future conflict. At separation, Angela’s focus is on demystifying the practical aspects of relationship breakdown while developing creative, cost-efficient, and forward-thinking solutions that work for her client’s unique family circumstances.

Angela graduated from Acadia University with a BA Honours in Political Science. She was a stay-at-home parent for six years and a diplomatic spouse for three, posting to Israel from 2013 until 2016. On returning to Canada, Angela pursued a law degree at the University of Ottawa. While in law school, she was an Editor with the Ottawa Law Review (2016-2019) and interned with a family law mediator. In 2019, she won the John E. Vanduzer Scholarship for her paper entitled “Who Cares? BIOC in a Post-Custody Future”, which examined amendments to the Divorce Act from a feminist ethics of care perspective. Angela obtained her Juris Doctor (Cum Laude) from the University of Ottawa in 2019 and was called to the Law Society of Ontario in 2020.

Originally from the West Coast but with a love of the East Coast, Angela enjoys convincing her husband and two teenagers to take extended road trips all over Canada. She also loves painting, knitting, and playing guitar.
